Dr. Gautam Das is a specialist neurologist in the Department of Neurology of Bangur Institute of Neurosciences (BIN), Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER), Kolkata.
He is involved in Cognitive clinic in BIN, Kolkata.
He worked in preparing illiterate version of Addenbrooke Cognitive and adaptation and validation of it in different Indian languages.
He has published several research articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals. He wrote several book chapters on cognitive neurology and other neurological issues.
He was involved in SPRINT trial (“secondary prevention with a structured semi-interactive stroke prevention package in India” published in LANCET Global Health, vol 11; March 23). Presently he is involved in “ENRICH” and “STENOSIS” (stroke) trial.
He is one of the founder members and presently holds the post of secretary of Bengal Cognitive School, Kolkata.
He participated in several public awareness programme on dementia. He was involved in survey and community outreach activities relating to dementia.
He is interested spatial attention, stroke cognition and social cognition. He also has a particular interest in posterior cortical atrophy, and cognition in epileptic patients.
He is a founder member of “Social Brain Network” group, Kolkata. The group is interested in brain machine interface, social network and brain networks.
He worked on perception and help-seeking behavior pattern in epilepsy, and psychiatric disorders.
He enjoys serving his patients and involving in research activities.
