This work aims to unravel the mechanisms that underlie neurodegeneration, with a long-term goal of developing effective, disease modifying treatments.

He is among the first South Asians selected for international training program in clinical trials, and is PI of a clinical trial investigating plasmapheresis as a novel disease modifying therapy for AD. Bridging research and clinical practice, he has played a pivotal role in forming a multidisciplinary team at NIMHANS for evidence-based care for people with dementia. This integrated approach ensures that patients benefit from the latest scientific advances in clinical settings. Dr Arshad aims at working towards offering new hope to patients and caregivers, with the ultimate goal of finding a potential cure for dementia.
